CHICAGO BASEBALL EVENTS
CUBS ROOFTOP Join the UIC Athletic Department for the annual Cubs Rooftop Outing on Saturday, May 10, for what always proves to be an afternoon of food, fun and baseball. This is a must-see game for die hard Cubs fans as the Cubs take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in a rematch of last year's National League playoff series. For any baseball fan, the Skybox on Sheffield (3627 N. Sheffield) rooftop experience provides a truly unique vantage point to catch a game at historic Wrigley Field. An all-you-can-eat buffet with open bar starting 30 minutes prior to first pitch (12:05 PM) and running through the seventh inning is included and guarantees you will not leave hungry. WHITE SOX FAN DECK The UIC Athletic Department wants you to join in for an exciting night of baseball on August 6 as it hosts a party on the White Six Fan Deck at US Cellular Field. Whether you are a Sox fan or a UIC fan, you can't lose in this Wednesday night match-up, as former Flames standout Curtis Granderson returns to the Windy City for an American League Central Division showdown between his Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox. Located behind centerfield, the Fan Deck provides an unbeatable view and includes your food and drinks when the gates open (5:30 PM for the 7:11 PM game) until 8:40 PM, making for a great night at the ballpark no matter which team you are cheering for. UIC ATHLETICS GOLF OUTING Spend an afternoon on the links with the UIC Athletic Department for the UIC Athletics Golf Outing on Tuesday, June 10, at Carriage Greens Country Club in Darien, Ill. Lunch is served at check-in followed by a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. The scramble format welcomes golfers of all skill levels to come out and enjoy the day with special prizes for longest drive, closet-to-the-pin, and lowest team score. The event concludes with dinner in the country club's banquet facilities and drawings for raffle prizes, making sure no one goes home empty handed. Single golfer and corporate sponsorship packages are available.
15th ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP CLASSIC Mark your calendars now for UIC Athletics' supreme Scholarship Classic Golf Outing on Tuesday, September 9. Once again, golf and dinner will take place at Bolingbrook Golf Club, voted "Top Ten You Can Play" by Golf Magazine. Details for this event will be released this summer, so check back here for more information as it becomes available.
