2007: All-Horizon League Newcomer Team selection...posted a Horizon League-best 2.39 ERA...went 4-4 in 18 appearances, getting the start in 15 of those games...tossed two complete games... two-time Horizon League Pitcher of the Week (Mar. 12, Apr. 23)...made collegiate debut against No. 21 Oklahoma State on Feb. 11, going five innings, allowing two runs and fanning five Cowboy hitters...picked up first collegiate victory with five innings of one-run relief against No. 14 Georgia Tech on Feb. 17...allowed just one earned run in six innings against No. 19 Tennessee on Mar. 4...went the distance against top-ranked Vanderbilt on Mar. 10, limiting the vaunted Commodore offense to just one run on three hits while fanning six without a walk in an eight-inning road start...earned Great Lakes Region Pitcher of the Week honors from InsidePitching.com for his complete game against Vanderbilt...tossed a complete game at Butler on Apr. 21, scattering seven hits and allowing just an unearned run in a six-strikeout effort...won UIC's Horizon League Championship-clinching game on May 26 with six shutout innings in the start.

Prep/Personal: Lettered two seasons as a pitcher at Downers Grove South...guided the Mustangs to two West Suburban Conference titles to go along with regional and sectional championships in 2005...All-West Suburban and all-area honoree...also garnered academic all-conference recognition...posted a 1.97 ERA as a senior...struck out a team-leading 71 hitters in just over 53 innings of work during his final campaign, going 6-4 in the process...owned a 2.04 ERA with a team-best 74 strikeouts in 58 innings as a junior...went 6-3 with a save as a junior...hit .310 during both his junior and senior seasons...also played football and basketball at Downers Grove South...born October 8, 1987...son of Tip and Lorie Crnkovich...majored in engineering.
