Men's Gymnastics Falls To No. 6 Illinois In Home Finale

Complete Results in PDF Format Chicago, Ill. - Led by co-captain Anthony May, the UIC men's gymnastics team compiled a season-best score of 342.950 against No. 6 Illinois at the UIC Physical Education Building on Saturday night. The Illini defeated the Flames with a combined team score of 354.850. Anthony May was impressive on the night, winning the all-around title and capping a season-best performance of 85.600. May placed second and tied his season-best score on vault (15.600) and posted his best high bar routine of the year with a 13.950. Co-captain Andrew Stover took first place honors with a season-best 14.600 on the high bar. Stover joined May earning his best all-around performance of the year with an 84.850. Neal Thompson finished the night off tied for first on the parallel bars scoring a season-best 14.900. Thomspon shared the top spot with Illinois' Tyler Yamauchi, Brain Liskovits, and Andres Saaverdra. Thompson also managed to score UIC's highest points on the pommel horse, placing third with a tally of 14.450. Nikolai Korepanov put on a stellar display for the red and blue faithful. The co-captain finished in second on the still rings with a season-best 15.450. Other highlights for the Flames included season-best scores for Kevin Baune on high bar (14.000) and for Bobby Solomon on vault (15.100). The Flames will conclude their regular season this Saturday (March 22) in Cambridge, Mass. at the MIT Eastern Invitational. The meet will begin at approximately 2 p.m.
