Men's Soccer Ranked Ninth In Final 2007 College Soccer News National Poll

Chicago, Ill.- After earning the first Top 10 ranking in a final national poll in the program's history 10 days ago, the UIC men's soccer team didn't wait long for its second as the Flames were ranked ninth in the College Soccer News Final 2007 Season-Ending Top 30 National Poll. The No. 9 ranking is the highest UIC has ever finished a season in a national poll of any kind. On Dec. 19 UIC finished ranked 10th in the final NSCAA/adidas national poll of the year. The ranking in the final College Soccer News poll of 2007 is the highest ranking that UIC has ever achieved in a College Soccer News national list. The Flames' previous best in a CSN poll was No. 10 from Oct. 9-15, 2006. UIC completed the 2007 campaign 13-6-6 overall and captured its first Horizon League Tournament title since 2000. The Flames went on to advance to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the first time in team history.
