Two-Time 2007 Horizon League First Team (200 & 400 freestyle relay)

2007-2008: Ninth-place finish in the 100 free at the Horizon League Championships...earned second-team all league honors for his performance on the runner-up 400 free relay...set a personal-best in the 200 free at Cleveland State...took the top spot in the 50 free with a 21.39 effort against Valparaiso...won the 200 free in 1:44.24 against Green Bay...led the one-two-three Flames punch in the 100 free against Western Illinois in a time of 47.87...also took second in the 50 free at the same meet... placed fifth in the C finals of the 50 free (21.70) at the Miami Invitational...anchored the winning 400 medley relay and took fourth in the 50 free (21.86) at Saint Louis...opened his season with a victory in the 50 free (21.54) and competing as the second leg of the first-place 400 free relay against Milwaukee and North Dakota.

2006-2007: Enjoyed a standout rookie season in sprint free and breaststroke events...member of UIC 200- and 400-meter freestyle relays teams that took home titles at the Horizon League Championships...individually, used season low times to rack up a trio of top ten finishes at the league meet, placing fifth in the 50-freestyle (21.07), fifth in the 100 freestyle (46.36) and eighth in the 100 breaststroke (59.36).

Prep/Personal: Four-year letterwinner as a sprint-freestyler for Woodstock High School...guided the Blue Streaks to four state appearances...garnered high school All-America accolades...four-time All-Fox Valley Conference honoree...two-time All-State...six-time sectional champion...placed third in the 100-yard freestyle state finals and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle state finals as a senior...compiled most wins for Woodstock during the 2005-06 season...swam on the Patriot Aquatic Club for coach Karl Mitzavich in Lincolnshire, Ill. for four years...lettered one season on the Woodstock track team as a sprinter...also played tight end for the football team...graduated from Woodstock with honors...German Honor Society member...born December 18, 1987...son of Frank and Anke Dougherty...majoring in marketing and psychology.
