Men's Tennis Defeats Green Bay In Horizon League Opener
March 9, 2008 Milwaukee, Wis. - The UIC men's tennis team defeated league foe Green Bay in Milwaukee on Friday, opening conference play with a 4-3 victory over the Phoenix. With Sean Kreymborg and Danny Wilson falling in a close 9-8 loss to Eric Plaushines and Matt Keesey in the third doubles slot, the Flames began singles action down 1-0 after Green Bay claimed the doubles point. The top four singles players came through for UIC, all winning their matches in straight sets. With a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Matt Clegg at the third singles slot, Adriano Liccardo has extended his team-best winning streak to six games. UIC returns home to take on MAC rival Buffalo at 6 p.m. on Saturday in Oak Park.
