Women's Gymnastics Posts Season-High Score Against No. 26 Illinois

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC women's gymnastics team tallied its highest score of the season with a 193.850 against No. 26 Illinois at the UIC Physical Education Building on Saturday night. The Illini won the dual meet with a combined score of 195.725. Annie Kachman led the Flames for the second time this week with her best all-around performance of the season. Kachman scored a 39.250, placing second behind Illinois' Allison Buckley (39.450). Kachman also compiled a career-best score on the balance beam tallying a 9.900, taking second place honors. DeAvera Todd joined Kachman with her season-best all-around performance scoring a 38.650. Todd also finished second on the floor scoring a season-best 9.800 and placed third on the vault with a 9.825. Zandre Labuschagne tied her season-high score on the balance beam with a 9.850. As a team, UIC scored its highest beam score of the season garnering a 49.050. Ashley Thurston posted a career-best on the floor exercise (9.775) and Karen Morales tied her season-best beam score (9.800) highlighting top performances for the Flames. UIC will return back in action on Saturday, March 22 at the Illinois Classic in Urbana, Ill. beginning at 2 p.m.
